The *culture is not optional volunteer staff and board of directors are excited to announce the launch of the Huss Project Brick Campaign, a seven-month effort to raise $100,000 for the Huss Project by June 15, 2013. Through the sale of 1,000 “bricks” for $100 each, we will pay off the mortgage on the property, consult with an architect and begin renovation. The overarching goal is to build our capacity to continue and expand the wonderful work that’s already begun at the Huss Project, including the community garden, art installations, Family Fun Nights and service-learning trips.
As our thank you to brick buyers, we’ll send you a handmade print of Huss and, if you reserve your brick by December 15, we’ll also include a hand-assembled booklet of winter blessings! An art installation at the Huss Project will eventually honor all supporters of the Brick Campaign, as well as Huss Project volunteers.
We invite supporters from near and far to join us on a journey that is about so much more than just collecting dollars. It’s about sharing stories, gathering ideas and growing ownership around the Huss Project’s vision for imagination and community in Three Rivers and beyond. Here are just a few of the things we’ve been working on for this fund-stravaganza:
- A brand spanking new Huss Project web site
- Weekly video and audio stories on the blog from neighbors, interns and others who have a relationship with the Huss Project
- Coffee hour information sessions in Three Rivers on December 6 and 13
- … and a host of other fundraising events that will take place over the next several months!
We hope you will add what you have to this stone soup mix, whether it’s dollars for a brick, spreading the word, praying hard, volunteering for or organizing an event, or some other ingredient we haven’t even dreamed of yet!
Thank you for your generous support of the Huss Project, in whatever form it takes. We look forward to sharing more with you over the coming weeks and months!
