Service-learning

The Huss Project has hosted a wide variety of service learning groups from colleges, church groups, and summer camps coming to put their hands to work on all the projects that happen at Huss. We’ve also facilitated longer term service learning sessions with summer interns who desired to learn about community development.  Whether groups visit for a few hours or a few months, we share with them the dynamic history of Three Rivers and what the Huss Project’s evolving role has been to help address the various needs in our city.

Service groups have helped us make strides in many short and long term goals by putting their skills to use in a wide range of activities, including renovating the 100 year old building, hosting summer lunches, weeding on the urban farm, helping organize special events like Future Festival.  *cino seeks to root all of these hands-on activities in our core values of compassionate listening, creative collaboration and faithful presence.  If you have a group that would like to explore service-learning through the Huss Project, please contact us!
