Hussagram: Getting started in the garden

Garden work day

Garden work day

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and we are smiling. We’ve started to get the Triple Ripple Community Garden up and running at the Huss Project for its fifth season. A few beds have been cleared, fence has been put up, and we’ve even put some seeds in the ground. In the picture above you can see volunteers getting dead grass and debris from our garden bed. After clearing these areas, we prepared the soil for planting by laying down manure and egg shells for nutrients. Many of us had fun crushing the egg shells in our hands and sprinkling them like glitter onto the soil. We got a lot of work done, but there’s still more to do. On the 17th of May we will be gathering at the garden for our second work day from 10:00am until 2:00pm. We would love to see you there to join our garden work!
