Future Fest: The Food

Future Festival food

Future Festival food

One thing is for sure: we in the *cino community love food.  We love growing, cooking, blessing, eating and sharing it (not so much the doing-the-dishes part).  And so, one of the things we all delight in is the range of delicious food and beverages featured each year at the Huss Future Festival.  You can show up when the doors open at 9:00 a.m. and eat a range of treats all day if you like!

  • Bake Sale & Coffeehouse (9-4): Start out your morning with a fair trade coffee or tea and move on to homemade lemonade once the day warms up.  Alongside the iced and hot beverages, local baker friends will showcase their best sweet treats for dine-in or to-go.
  • TRAFC Fish Fry (noon-4): This annual event is organized by the Three Rivers Area Faith Community (TRAFC) and all proceeds support the Back to School Celebration, an annual family event that provides a meal and a backpack full of school supplies to each child who attends.  $7.00 will get you a dinner that includes catfish or perch, fries and bread.
  • Triple Ripple Community Gardens Food Tent (11-2): We are proud to feature fresh food grown right on the Huss Project property alongside other local delights like the delectable brats from Sand Lake Party Store.  All proceeds support Triple Ripple’s efforts to grow healthy, organic food for local organizations and teach others how to grow as well.  Hmmm, a fish dinner or a brat?  Both!  And the garden tent has delicious options for veg people as well.
  • Farmer’s Market (9-4): Our local farmer friends generously donate out of their abundance to pack our farmer’s market tent with fresh, locally grown produce.  Don’t know how to use that veggie?  Local growers and cooks will be on hand to help you find a recipe and the prices are kept low so all can have access!

So come hungry on Saturday and plan to leave with a bag of goodies.  Supporting amazing community causes tastes good at Huss Future Fest!
