Join us this summer at the Huss Project!

Summer 2016

Summer is always our busy season at The Huss Project and this summer is no exception. We have plenty of opportunities to get involved—from work days to gardening, summer lunches to storytelling events, and, of course, Huss Future Festival 2016! We’d love to see you this summer!

Huss work days

Saturdays, 9:00am – 1:00pm

We have plenty of projects, both indoors and out, that we need volunteers to help with! Bring your family and friends, or make friends here! Everyone is welcome! Plus, if you have extra stuff lying around the house, bring it! We are accepting rummage donations until July 16 for our HUGE sale at Huss Future Fest.

Community Fun Nights

Wednesdays, June 22 – August 10; 6:00 – 8:00pm

Join us for an evening filled with great activities! We’ll have food, games, crafts and more available for all ages. We’ll have garden projects and space for conversation available, too. There’s something for everyone!

Summer lunches

Monday – Friday, June 20 – July 1 and July 11 – August 12; 11:45am – Noon

Any school aged child is eligible to receive a free lunch at the Huss Project this summer! Lunches will mostly be served outside, but indoor space is available in case of inclement weather. Bag lunches will include bread, protein, milk, fruit and a vegetable (or second fruit of another variety). All food must be consumed on property according to program guidelines. There will be no lunches the week of July 4.

Storytelling: Sharing Food

June 17, 7:00 – 9:00pm

Come out for the first storytelling night of the summer! What memories do you have of sharing food? How did it go? Has it brought you together with others, or impacted how you perceived an event? Share food as we share about sharing food! Potluck starts at 7PM (bring a dish to pass!) and storytelling goes from 8PM to 9PM.

Storytelling: Coming & Going

July 8, 7:00 – 9:00pm

Staying put has its virtues, but in the course of normal life events, most of us find ourselves leaving one place and entering another, for better or worse or just… the same. What places have you left behind, and what places have you come into? Divulge with us the tales of your coming and going. Potluck starts at 7PM (bring a dish to pass!) and storytelling goes from 8PM to 9PM.

Huss Future Festival 2016

July 23, 9:00am – 4:00pm

Join us for the Seventh Annual Huss Future Festival! We’ll have a full day of live music, delicious food, fun games, creative activities, a huge rummage sale and the Three Rivers Area Faith Community Back to School celebration. We’re excited to see everyone come together for our biggest event of the summer!
