Imaginarium ideas, day 16: Betty

45 Ideas: Betty Kerley

45 Ideas: Betty Kerley

We asked friends, neighbors, and community partners to give us their ideas for the brand-new Imaginarium once it’s completed. Here’s what Betty Kerley said:

Where in Three Rivers is someone likely to spot you, and what would you be doing there?

I live and work in downtown Three Rivers. Most days you will find me behind the desk as you walk into the Chamber of Commerce.

What is your connection to Huss?

I took my GED test at Huss while it was still the Adult Education Building. I was introduced to *culture is not optional while I was volunteering at World Fare. I have attended the Huss Future Festival many times and Rob and Kirstin are my neighbors.

The Huss Project is working on turning the old kindergarten room into a cool new space with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and room for community events. What’s your most creative idea for something that could happen there?

I would like a quiet corner with headphones and soothing colors and music that can be a safe place for people with anxiety or children with sensory issues to feel safe and calm when they become overwhelmed or overstimulated.
