Virtual open mic night this Thursday!

Are you looking for a creative outlet during quarantine? Join the Lowrys Bookstore Open Mic crew this Thursday, April 2 at 6:45pm via Zoom! For those of us struggling mentally, physically, or socially in this time of crisis, witnessing and producing art offer us important solace and solidarity.

As some of you may know, Aundrea Sayrie, Becca Someday, and Mitchie Moore have hosted monthly open mic nights at Lowry’s Bookstore for those in the community interested in sharing their talents. Though we are unable to gather physically, the Open Mic crew is inviting all audiences and artists to gather virtually for its “Covid Mic Night”! April 2 will feature the incredible DJ Problematic Black Hottie hailing from Detroit, MI whose work centers the feminine and black experience. You will also have the opportunity to submit your work by video to www.covidopenmic.com prior to the zoom call.

Below is a schedule of how the “Covid Mic Night” will go down:

  • Submit your work at www.covidopenmic.com prior to April 2.
  • Go to https://zoom.us/j/568096378 to connect to the call on April 2, starting at 6:45pm.
  • 6:45-7:15 – Tunes, DJ Mitchie Moore
  • 7:15-8:15 – Sign up/show up, Aundrea and Becca
  • 8:15 – Headliner, DJ Problematic Black Hottie
  • Check out the event’s facebook page for questions and more details.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Many thanks to Aundrea for her unending efforts in gathering the creative forces at work in Three Rivers. She recently released a chapbook, “Breathe,” and her profile can be found on Patreon. Shoutout also to Mitchie whose new album, “Mitchies Vault (Part 1),” was just recently released. Thank you Open Mic fam!
