Brick Report 12.20.12

Huss Project launch!

Well, we thought we should post one last update in case the world ends tomorrow — we wouldn’t want to leave you wondering how many bricks we’d sold.  It’s 164!  Yep, we’ve made it to $16,400 on our way to the $100,000 goal!

We’ve been so encouraged by supporters near and far who have taken this opportunity to chip in toward the big vision for the Huss Project in Three Rivers.  It was a delight to put together our first big mailing of Huss prints last weekend, knowing that those little handmade pieces of gratitude would be finding good homes.

On the planning front, we’ve gotten a quote, which seems quite reasonable, for getting the plumbing back up and running on the first floor using existing pipe and fixtures.  We’re also looking forward to touring the building next week with a local contractor, just to get some feedback and ideas and share the vision for the physical space with someone who’s worked on a number of creative local projects.  We’ll be doing another building tour that same day with an out-of-town friend who has supported *cino from afar for years, and we look forward to showing her around a place she’s heard so much about!

In general, things will slow down for us for the next couple of weeks.  Everyone in the *cino gang is traveling for the holidays, and Rob and I will also be getting ready to teach a class at Calvin College again in January.  We wish you all a happy Christmas full of peace, joy and rest as you tell stories old and new.
