Opening day of garden season!

Come get your hands dirty getting the community garden started! We will be there for the entire time – – so don’t hesitate if you cannot come the whole time — come for as long as you can. Kids are welcome, young ones must be supervised.

The community garden has two major missions:

1. Teach people how to be independent and grown their own healthy organic food.
2. Provide good organic food to those who don’t have access to it and need it most.

The food we grow is given to volunteers who need it and to individuals and families in the area who we know can use the good nutrition – Lighthouse, women’s shelter and emergency care network.

Volunteers needed for this season:

1. Major work events – set-up and plant, tear down and clean-up.
2. Weekly maintenance – weeding watering and harvesting
3. Delivery to recipients
