Free lunch for school-aged kids + Summer Reading Club
August 9, 2017 @ 11:45 am - 12:00 pm
On Mondays and Thursdays in July and August (plus Wednesday, August 9), we’re partnering with Norton Elementary to host a Summer Reading Club during our summer lunch program. Take a book, leave a book, and receive weekly reading tools to help you read great books all summer!
And through a partnership with Three Rivers Community Schools, there will be FREE summer lunches for kids at the Huss Project. Any school-aged child, from anywhere are eligible to receive a free lunch! Lunches will be distributed Monday through Friday from 11:45-noon, from June 19 to August 10 (there are no lunches on July 4). Lunch will mostly be served outside, but we’ll have indoor space available in case of inclement weather.
Bag lunches will include a bread, protein, milk, fruit and a vegetable (or second fruit of another variety). According to the rules of the program, all food has to be consumed on the property or it has to be discarded, so plan to have a seat, relax and enjoy the great outdoors for a little bit. Depending on the harvest, there may also be fresh veggies available out of the Huss Project garden.
