Conferences

Conferences

The next several months are chock full of great conferences throughout Michigan where our *cino volunteer staff will be speaking, displaying and learning.  We wanted to let you all know about them so you can see some of our behind-the-scenes work and also consider attending, if any of them sound like your kind of thing.

Christian Community Development Association–West Michigan
March 5-7 in Grand Rapids

*cino is a major sponsor for this regional conference, which features both day-long intensive sessions and workshops led by practitioners of community development.  CCDA approaches community development with wisdom, hopefulness and creativity and we are always refreshed and inspired by our experiences at their conferences.

Small Town & Rural Community Development Conference
April 13-15, Thompsonville

We discovered this conference thanks to someone who heard us speak at a local Rotary Club meeting and the organizers were gracious enough to give us a speaking spot.  We met lots of fascinating people doing great work throughout our state and were very inspired, especially by all of the work going into placemaking initiatives in Michigan.

Building Michigan Communities Conference
April 27-29 in Lansing

This year will be our first time attending this conference and the content looks great!  There are tracks for organizational development, building vibrant communities and addressing housing issues.  Rob and I will be speaking about the Huss Project on Tuesday morning.

Please let us know if you have any questions about any of these events.  We’re looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones, and learning a ton of helpful stuff as we move forward with the Huss Project!
